Title
George Trafton skates for Makaha and Hobie / Vita-Pakt
Description
George Trafton skates for the Makaha and the Hobie / Vita-Pakt Super Surfer skateboard teams.
He appeared in the article "Surfer/Skateboarder," published in the second issue of "Skateboarder" magazine (1965), where he is shown hanging heels on a Hobie skateboard on Woody Woodward's paddle-tennis court at Topanga Beach.
Tony Alva and Jim Muir credit Trafton with being one of the OG style masters that they looked up to.
"In the early 1960s through the mid-1960s, your style was part of who you were, and you were recognizable by what you did. Your style was what defined you, and George Trafton had style."
-- Jim Fitzpatrick
"Surfing was so closely connected to skateboarding during his era. I was part of that era, and fortunate to see a guy like George Trafton out surfing, and it influenced my skateboarding."
-- Tony Alva
