James Mathers drew portraits (including his own) of the poets in the anthology "Idlers of the Bamboo Grove: Poetry from Lower Topanga Canyon" edited by Pablo Capra (Brass Tacks Press, 2002). The poets wrote about the eviction of their community by State Parks.
