Greek fisherman John Fondukas [John Foundoukos] carries a girl across Topanga Creek during a flood in Lower Topanga Canyon. Firemen, deputy sheriffs, and private citizens used rowboats and swam to rescue those marooned by the 1941 rainstorm.
